Atlantis LegacyThe following are ships of different Earth navies named Atlantis.
Hilfskreuzer AtlantisThe Hilfskreuzer Atlantis was a German auxiliary cruiser also known as Schiff 16 to the Germans and Raider-C to the Royal Navy. The ship was originally built as privately owned freighter Goldenfels and in 1939/40 converted to a commerce raider.
USS Atlantis (SP-40)The USS Atlantis (SP-40) was a wooden hulled motorboat built in 1911 and in service for the 3d and 9th Naval District from 1917 to 1919 under command of Chief Boatswain Edward Cunningham, USNRF. She patrolled the waters of Detroid and New York City.
HMS Atlantis (P432)The HMS Atlantis was supposed to be a submarine of the Amphion class ordered by the Royal Navy in 1945. The ship was cancelled after the end of the World War.
Minensuchboot AtlantisThe Minensuchboot Atlantis as a Frauenlob-class minesweeper of the Federal German Navy in service from 1968 to 1995. It was assigned to the 7th Minesweeper Squadron which in the 1970s participated in several Nato manoeuvres. The 38 metre long and 14.5 knots fast ship had a crew of two officers, two senior non-commissioned officers, 8 petty officers and 14 crewmen. Its sister ships were named Frauenlob, Nautilus, Gefion, Medusa, Undine, Minerva, Diana, Loreley, and Acheron.
R/V Atlantis (AGOR-25)The R/V Atlantis was a science vessel operated by the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and owned by the US Navy. The vessel entered service in 1997, was 83.5 metres long and had a crew of 23 with additional accommodations for 24 scientists and 13 technicians.
