Schedule 2005/06

I thought that you might be interested in seeing my daily time schedule. I wanted to do that some time ago, but I only found the time now. The following table shows lectures and tutorials that I attend during my study of mathematics. I haven't included the time I spend at university to solve my exercises.

Time Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
08:00 Physics Statistics II   Statistics II M'n'P
09:00
10:00 M'n'P Functional
Analysis
Physics Physics Functional

12:00 Lunch StugA Lunch Lunch Lunch
13:00 Functional

Explanations

» Lectures are bold - Tutorials in italic - Seminars/Plena are plain - (Brackets) denote lectures I do not/cannot attend

All subjects are in the format 4+2, which means that I have four hours of lectures and two hours of tutorials in which we present the solutions of our exercice papers.

Physics is actually theoretical physics, which is a third semester lecture of the physics faculty. I have to attend that course in order to fulfil the needs of my minor subject. I had to choose between theoretical and experimental physics, though I don't like experiments (especially not the laboratory reports) I choose the theory.

Statistics II after having attended the Statistics seminar last semester I thought it would be fun to attend the Statistics II without hearing the Statistics I lecture. As I write this I have to say that I still can handle the stuff, even though I don't know a bit about test theory. But I can still decide to quit the lecture, because it is not a needed one, though it would mean I have to attend Functional Analysis til the end, though that is not that interesting and much harder, even though I have all the courses that are needed to attend the Analysis lecture.

M'n'P stands for Measure and Propability Theory, which is only abbreviated in daily speak. (Though it is M-und-W in German.)

The StugA (Stoo-gah) is the abbreviation for StudiengangsAusschuss, which represents the students of the Mathematical faculty in the academic politics. I was elected into the StugA in 2004/2005 semester and am taking care of the new StugA website and was responsible of the faculty newspaper.

Every week we have to hand in exercice papers which are a major criterion if we receive the certificate of a passed lecture. Statistics and Physics is mondays, M'n'P on tuesday, and Functional Analysis til thurdsay.

On wednesday, thursday, or friday afternoon I have a job from time to time, though which day actually depends on computer place vacancy in the office or simple need for an additional hand.
