Schedule 2006I thought that you might be interested in seeing my daily time schedule. I wanted to do that some time ago, but I only found the time now. The following table shows lectures and tutorials that I attend during my study of mathematics. I haven't included the time I spend at university to solve my exercises.
Explanations» Lectures are bold - Tutorials in italic - Seminars/Plena are plain - (Brackets) denote lectures I do not/cannot attend All subjects are in the format 4+2, which means that I have four hours of lectures and two hours of tutorials in which we present the solutions of our exercice papers. Physics is actually theoretical physics, which is a fourth semester lecture of the physics faculty. I have to attend that course in order to fulfil the needs of my minor subject. I had to choose between theoretical and experimental physics, though I don't like experiments (especially not the laboratory reports) I choose the theory. Statistics I after having attended the Statistics II lecture it is now time to hear part I of that lecture. Additionally to that lecture I attend the Seminar Computer Statistics though there is no real connection between the two. PDE stands for Partial Differential Equations, which is only abbreviated in daily speak. (PDE is even used in German though the proper designation would be PDg for partielle Differentialgleichungen.) Since there are no interesting seminars this semester I filled my schedule with the "BGW" "Space and Time in Modern Physics" quite fitting with a minor in physics I presume and the first hours were interesting too! Down point of this is, that there are several philosophers in the course being not that familiar with either physics or math so it seems. For the first time at university I was contracted to give lessons to other students. I have a tutorium in the 'service lecture' Mathematik 2 - PWings (Mathematics 2 for production and industrial engineers). The StugA (Stoo-gah) is the abbreviation for StudiengangsAusschuss, which represents the students of the Mathematical faculty in the academic politics. I was elected into the StugA in 2004/2005 semester and am taking care of the new StugA website and was responsible of the faculty newspaper. Every week we have to hand in exercice papers which are a major criterion if we receive the certificate of a passed lecture. Physics is mondays, Statistics on tuesday, and PDE til thurdsay.
