Reproduced in its entirety and exact wording. 1969: Man walks on the moon. 1992: Eugenic supermen seize world power, World War III begins. 1996: Khan Noonien Singh and 94 supermen leave Earth in the spaceship Botany Bay. 2002: Nimad interstellar probe launched to seek out extraterrestrial life. 2009: Fundamental Declaration of the Martian Colonies, Mars settlement gains independence. 2018: "Sleeper" (suspended animation) ships outmoded by improved interplanetary vessels. 2020: Col. Shaun Geoffrey Christopher walks on the moons of Saturn. 2036: Col. Green, a notorious scientist, sparks Earth's last genocidal war. 2050: Kzinti, a race of cat-like warriors, discover Earth and immediately begin the first of five Man-Kzin wars. 2051: Zefram Cochrane discovers warp drive, enabling Earth vessels to defeat the Kzinti. 2053: S.S. Bonaventure, first warp drive vessel, leaves Earth to survey other star systems. 2060: S.S. Valiant is sent to the galaxy's edge, where it is swept away by a magnetic storm. 2089: Earth ships discover an empire of slave worlds dominated by the Vegans. Earth-Vega war ends the Vegan Tyranny. 2090: Contact with a race of belligerent pig-like humanoids who call their world "Tellar". 2093: Earth explorations reach Epsilon Indi, where a race of blue-skinned beings are dubbed "Andorians". 2100: An Earth survey vessel contacts Vulcan, a hot, dry world circling 40 Eridani. 2127: Four races: humans (both Terrans and Alpha Centaurians), Vulcans, Tellarites and Andorians - meet on the planetoid Babel to ratify the Article of Federation of the United Federation of Planets, and merge their civilizations into a giant political and administrative network. The Articles provide for a Star Fleet to police this volume of space, and Star Bases as centers for future exploration. 2143: The planet Deneva is colonized as a supply base for asteroid miners. 2159: S.S. Archon disappears on a survey mission to planet Beta III in star system 6-11. 2161: Primitive warships erupt from a cluster of young stars on the border of Federation space, and engage Earth vessels in a brief but violent war. A treaty with this new race - "Romulans" - is hastily made by subspace radio. 2168: S.S. Horizon visits Sigma Iotia II, and leaves "The Book": Chicago Mobs of the Twenties. 2174: First contact with an empire of ruthless warriors, the Klingons. An uneasy peace is established. 2192: Following a rich pergium strike, the Janus VI mining colony is established. 2217: Twelve Constitution Class Heavy Cruisers (including the U.S.S. Enterprise) are built by the San Francisco Naval Yards and assembled in Earth orbit. Capt. Robert April assumes command of the Enterprise. 2218: U.S.S. Valiant is lost on an exploratory mission to Eminar VII after reporting that the planet is at war with its neighbor. 2242: Kodos "The Executioner" murders 2000 colonists on Tarsus IV during a botanical plague. 2247: Capt. Christopher Pike takes command of the Enterprise. Detoured by a false distress signal to Talos IV, Pike is taken prisoner by the Talosians. 2250: A cloud-vampire attacks the U.S.S. Farragut, killing its crew. 2262: James T. Kirk assumes command of the Enterprise and is given a five-year mission of galaxy exploration. 2265: War with the Klingons breaks out, but is quickly suppressed by the Organians. | |||
